These are the Netflix Canada shows you need in your life this weekend.
We don't need to remind you that this weekend is Labour Day,
a.k.a. an extended opportunity for you to stay out late, sleep even
later, and most importantly, catch up on all those amazing Netflix
shows you don't have time to watch.
From new releases to hidden gems and award-winning series,
these are the shows you need to binge while you're curled up in PJs
this long weekend. Now's the time to stop rewatching "The Office" for
the tenth time and finally try something new - trust us, you won't
regret it.
I Am A Killer
IMDb Rating: 7.6/10
This documentary series is Netflix's latest co-production
with A&E and it'll absolutely blow your mind. Each hour-long
episode profiles a different inmate who has been charged with the death
penalty or life in prison for capital murder. Plus, the plot twists will
leave you stunned, especially because every detail actually happened in
real life. It's truly unlike any prison documentary series you've ever
seen.

If you love "The Simpsons" and "Futurama,"
you'll love "Disenchantment." Created by the same cartoonist, this
comedy is set in a medieval world. The lead character is an alcoholic
princess voiced by Abbi from "Broad City," so you know it's going to be
hilarious AF. You'll breeze through the entire first season so quickly,
making it the perfect choice for long weekend binge-watching.

Sadly, this show only has one season. But, don't be fooled
by the Rotten Tomatoes rating - it's arguably one of the most intense
and addicting psychological thrillers on Netflix. Naomi Watts plays a
therapist who gets way too involved in her patient's lives, pursuing
wildly inappropriate fantasies of being intimately connected to them.
All while keeping everything a secret from her husband. You won't even
realize that you're holding your breath during some of the cliffhangers.
Lie To Me
IMDb Rating: 8/10

Rotten Tomatoes:
"Lie To Me" is a crime drama series that'll have you questioning
everything and everyone around you. It follows the world's leading
expert in detecting lies, who helps law enforcement and the government
determine whether or not an individual is guilty based on their
expressions, movements and gestures. It's a super fast-paced show and
the intensity never stops building. You won't even realize you're three
seasons deep until Monday night rolls around.

This show got great reviews for a reason.
It follows a teenage boy on the autism spectrum who's ready to date and
find love. He's determined to grow up, and is forced to confront the
reality of what it means to be "normal." He's such a lovable character
and you'll find yourself laughing and crying with him through all his
triumphs and mishaps. It's funny, sweet and so real.
Freaks And Geeks
IMDb Rating: 8.9/10
Rotten Tomatoes: 100%
The ratings for this 1980s-era teen comedy speak for themselves.
If you haven't seen this show, cancel your weekend plans and watch it
ASAP. You'll definitely recognize a handful of faces in the cast,
looking much younger than they do today. The show follows a group of
teen misfits stumbling their way through high school and adolescent
life, all with a 1980s, middle-USA backdrop. The show was cancelled
after one season, and there petitions to this day to bring it back.
